Day 37 - Linz

Total so far 2,030.90 km

Today we visited the Mauthausen Memorial, located between Langenstein and Mauthausen, Austria. The camp was liberated by the U.S. Army on May 5, 1945. 

There will be a celebration of the 80th anniversary of its liberation this coming Monday.

Kudliñski does not want to wait for his return home to be organized. He receives a bicycle from nuns in Linz. Together with two other survivors he sets off on the long journey home to Poland. Kudliñski keeps the bicycle as a momento until the end.
