The route planned can be found below. As we all know, nothing is written in stone and routes may be changed due to weather, local information, getting lost, unforeseen situations and/or opportunities!
We have 12 weeks and 3 days to reach Istanbul and then we will spend 8 days in Istanbul being non cycling tourists.
If we pedal 6 days per week we only need to average 60 km per day, this will give us plenty of time and freedom to explore certain areas as we progress through our route.
You can change the map appearance by clicking on "RWGPS Cycle" which appears on the top right corner. A list of map views will appear once you click on it, I recommend selecting "GoogleMap"
- We start cycling at the Schiphol airport in Amsterdam (Netherlands) we use local trails to eventually make our way onto the EuroVelo 12 North Sea Cycle route (EV12) for a short distance.
- From Hook of Holland (Netherlands) we will cycle a portion of the EV15 Rhine cycle route.
- From Tuttlingen(Germany) we leave the EV15 to cycle a portion of the EV6 Atlantic Black See cycle route.
- From Vienna (Austria) we leave the EV6 to cycle the entire Sultans Trail (ST) all the way to Istanbul (Turkey).
