We are safe, sound and tired in our nice hotel room in Duisburg.  It was a hard day's ride.

The day started off with a nice breakfast and chat with Frans that could have gone on much longer. I had a chance to update Frans on the expression "Elbows Up!" that he can use with his Canadian friends.

It was an easy and mostly downhill ride from Frans's place to rejoin EuroVelo 15 heading to Duisburg 89 km away. Within the first kilometer, we knew that the wind would not be our friend today.

Had we followed the planned route, instead of writing this blog, we would still be on the bikes. Hélène skillfully managed the ride so as to minimize exposure to the head/cross winds and maximize the tail wind when possible. As a bonus, we got to ride through many smaĺ villages and tiny back alleys. Check them out on the video and Relive.

Picture for the grand kids :)

We have been riding everyday for a week and get to experience spring. Each day we see the leaves get bigger and more and more plants and trees in bloom. I never noticed that from a car.

We have breakfast on our own tomorrow so we plan an earlier start.

A word for the grand-kids: Hi kids video
