Video of the day: Europe Day 20
We are safe and secure in Neuf-Brisach, Alsace, France.
After a super breakfast at our hotel, we quickly got on Canal du Rhone au Rhin (EuroVelo 15) a paved bicycle path for 53 km in a straight line. While in urban Strasbourg, we encountered many cyclists but once in the country side it was pretty quiet.
Our only excitement on the bicycle path is coming upon a lock every 3 km or so. As all good things must come to an end, same goes for paved bike path. The path changed to muddy crushed stone, so we decided to bike a few kilometers on a country road. The posted speed was 70 km and we felt as safe as riding a separated bike path. Drivers take cyclist safety to heart.
The rain stopped about 20 km from Neuf-Brisach and the sun came out. We were practically dry by the time we got to destination.
Neuf-Brisach is a military fort built in 4 years from 1699 - 1703. We got a chance to do a little walk about and view the fortification. It is amazing they got most of it built in 4 years. See this link to Wikipedia and also view the related articles. Also this French article and video.

Tomorrow we head to our last commune in France, Huningue, one kilometer from Switzerland and a lot cheaper.
