We visited what is referred to as « The Old Town » of Plovdiv. We got to visit and experience part of a Roman Stadium and an Ancient Roman Theatre. In the beginning, Plovdiv was known as a Roman town, named Philippopolis.
What is really crazy about parts of the stadium is that it is found in the basement of a major retail store.

We did quite a bit of walking in the Old Town and discovered that before pavers they used stones to make the road surface. Old Town is a gated community and only residents/ businesses owner vehicles are allowed entry.
